Imagine That! Expand your communication skills to include imaging. Deborah Freedman is a myth maker and storyteller. She listens, accesses images, then weaves them into story. Learn how to image. Use this skill when figuring out a solution, explaining a thought, or articulating a mission. You will be given exercises to help silence the mind. This releases an infinite wellspring of images. Once they begin flowing, we harness them into story. Combine logos with mythos, mind and heart, to communicate. The clarity of the results may surprise you. Storytelling and Myth, Language of the Soul Create a spontaneous story for someone you care about. If you feel stuck in the wisdom of the intellect, explore another way of communicating. Learn how to silence the mind in order for images to flow. The language of myth is symbolic. Bring it forth into the light of day in a playful manner. The mind has been King. Storytelling for Caregivers If someone you love has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness, help them cope with the fear through story. Become a magician and transform the fear into a beautiful creation. Deborah spent ten years helping people make panels for the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt, and sharing their stories while traveling throughout New England. She has witnessed how story can name death and take away its power. She also has a performance piece about death and dying based on quilting which can accompany the workshop.
